What Our Services Are Like
Our Services
Traditional worship. Friendly people. Faithful Bible preaching.
Our services are centered on worshiping God and hearing from His Word. You can expect a warm welcome, Scripture reading, prayer, traditional hymns accompanied by the piano, and clear, practical preaching from the King James Bible.
The preaching of God’s Word is the centerpiece of our services. Our desire is for every message to instruct, encourage, challenge, and help us grow in our walk with Christ.
During the service, we also take time to greet one another and welcome our guests. We do not pressure visitors to give. Offering boxes are available for those who wish to give.
Our Sunday morning worship service typically lasts about 60–90 minutes. Whether you have attended church all your life, have been away from church for a while, or are visiting for the very first time, we would be glad to have you worship with us.
For Your Children
Children & Nursery
We love children at Sayre Baptist Church and want them to know that church is a place for them too!
A nursery is available for children ages 0–3 during our Sunday morning service. We also offer Children’s Church for ages 4–12 during the preaching portion of the service, giving children an opportunity to learn biblical truths in a way designed especially for them.
Parents are also always welcome to keep their children with them in the main service.
Beyond Sunday mornings, our Lighthouse Kids’ Klub meets on Wednesday evenings and gives children opportunities to learn God’s Word through Bible lessons, Scripture memory, singing, games, activities, and more.
We believe one of the greatest things we can do for the next generation is faithfully teach them the Word of God and point them to Jesus Christ.
About Our Church
Who We Are
Sayre Baptist Church is an Independent, Fundamental, Bible-believing, missions-hearted Baptist church committed to glorifying God, preaching His Word, sharing the Gospel, and loving people.
We believe the King James Bible is the inspired, preserved Word of God and our final authority for faith and practice. Our worship is traditional, our preaching is Bible-centered, and our desire is to faithfully serve Christ while reaching Sayre, the Penn-York Valley, and the world with the Gospel.
Our church family includes children, teenagers, young adults, families, singles, and senior adults. We believe the local church should be a place where people can worship together, grow in their faith, build genuine friendships, serve the Lord, and help carry one another’s burdens.
We are not a church filled with perfect people. We are people who need the grace of God and who have found hope and salvation through Jesus Christ.
